Springboard is the teenage church of Trinity House.
We cater to the spiritual and emotional well being of teenage members of the church. We seek ingenious ways to engage our teens who are at a delicate stage in their growth and maturity. Through our efforts we hope to guide and direct the teens to develop their own personal revelation of who God is.
In Springboard our vision is to mould teens into people who;
Are God fearing
Are committed to God and the things of God
Believe in creativity and are motivated to create
Believe in ethics as laid out in the word of God
Are of an excellent spirit like Daniel
Confident and have a high sense of self-worth and
Are able to develop a positive response to challenges they face in life
We are currently working on creating a dance-drama presentation with The Thespian Family Theatre which will be open to the public and ticketed. The funds raised will be donated to an NGO to be determined by the teens.
We are also taking steps to create a more conducive and relaxing environment for our weekly Sunday services, in which we can connect better with the teens in discussing life issues from God’s perspective.
In meeting the needs of our Teens, we adopt various approaches which include (but are not limited to) the following;
Sharing the word of God through interactive sessions. To do this we try to utilize visual aids – videos, PowerPoint presentations etc. and true life stories.
Partner with external organizations with relevant and life changing messages e.g. Cece Yara Foundation, Technovation, This Present House (Youth drug abuse rehabilitation centre) etc.
Arranging seminars and events to broaden their scope and serve as a compass in making life changing choices e.g. educational / career workshop
Visitations to establishments that serve as an eye opener to create awareness on consequences of poor choices and to expose them to some realities of life, helping them to comprehend the bigger picture of our existence
Watching movies with underlying life messages, which are discussed at length
Fun outings to relieve life’s pressures which also serving as a means of knowledge acquisition and developing of softer skills
Encourage non-academic skills / talent development e.g. football, drama, music
Teach leadership principles while enjoining them to take up responsibilities within the ministry, make presentations to their peers etc.
Provide financial support where possible, in meeting educational needs of economically disadvantaged teens
Organize seminars for parents to sensitize them on common and contemporary challenges faced by teens, the incidental risks and how best to avoid or minimize the adverse impact on the teens.
